Marketplace
Not availableZomato and Tuckly
Zomato is a marketplace, not a POS. Why Zomato orders do not flow into Tuckly, and how Zomato runs beside your restaurant's own online ordering system.
What would sync, and its status
| Capability | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Receive Zomato orders in Tuckly | Not supported | Zomato's POS partner programme has prerequisites of 500 onboarded restaurants or 50,000 monthly orders, per Zomato's developer documentation. |
| Push your Tuckly menu to Zomato | Not supported | |
| Run Zomato alongside your direct ordering site | Supported | Operationally, most restaurants do exactly this. The two channels share a kitchen, not software. |
Limitations
- There is no Tuckly-to-Zomato connection in either direction, and none is planned for the launch period.
- Zomato's POS integration programme is aimed at POS and middleware providers with large restaurant bases, not at individual ordering sites.
- Commission figures on this page are reported ranges from news sources with dates, not Zomato's published rate card, and your contract governs.
Who it suits
- Restaurant owners trying to understand what a Zomato integration would and would not mean
- Restaurants on Zomato who want a direct channel for regulars without leaving the marketplace
Zomato is not a POS
This page exists mostly to clear up one thing. When restaurant owners search for a Zomato integration, they are usually hoping that orders from Zomato will show up in the same screen as everything else. That is a POS problem, and Zomato solves it with POS and middleware companies, not with ordering websites. Tuckly does not receive Zomato orders, and it does not send your menu to Zomato.
How Zomato orders reach a kitchen
Zomato runs a developer programme for POS integration, and its published prerequisites are telling: a partner must have a minimum of 500 restaurants onboarded, or a minimum monthly order volume of 50,000. Those numbers describe companies like Petpooja, Restroworks and UrbanPiper, all of which document Zomato order flow into the systems they serve. If your Zomato orders already appear on your POS or tablet without retyping, that is the pipe they came through.
A direct ordering site is a different kind of thing. It is a channel, like Zomato is a channel. Both end at your kitchen. If Tuckly connects to your POS, direct orders and Zomato orders land in the same place, but through separate connections, and the Petpooja, Restroworks and UrbanPiper pages state the status of each.
What a Zomato order costs, as far as public reporting goes
Zomato does not publish a rate card. Its commission is in each restaurant’s contract and varies. What exists in public are reported ranges, and they are worth quoting with their dates because they move.
- Verdict Foodservice, citing NDTV Profit, reported in September 2025 that Zomato’s commissions vary between 10% and 28%.
- Business Standard reported in June 2025 that Bernstein estimated take rates of 18 to 20 per cent.
- Inc42 reported in June 2025 that NRAI insiders put the figure at around 25% to 35%.
- Medianama reported in July 2025 that Zomato’s fees including commission were capped at 30% of order value.
On the customer side, Inc42 reported in March 2026 that Zomato raised its platform fee to 14.9 rupees before GST, up from 12 rupees. The customer pays that per order; it is not the restaurant’s commission, but it does affect what a customer sees at checkout and how a direct order compares.
Whatever your own rate is, the commission calculator will take it and show the annual figure, and the article on how delivery app commissions work walks through the line items.
Running Zomato and a direct site together
Most restaurants that take direct orders keep their marketplace listings. The practical pattern is simple. Zomato brings people who have not heard of you. Once they have eaten your food, you would rather they ordered again from a link with your name on it, where no commission is deducted. So the direct link goes on the bag, the receipt, the Google Business Profile, the Instagram bio, and the reply to every WhatsApp enquiry.
There is nothing to configure between the two. They share a kitchen and a menu, and the menu is the part to watch: when a dish comes off, take it off both. A POS connection makes that automatic where one exists.
Tax and compliance notes
Two points that come up. First, since 1 January 2022 e-commerce operators such as Zomato pay the GST on restaurant services supplied through them, under the GST Council’s notification and circular on the subject. On a direct order, GST is accounted for as on any restaurant sale. Second, FSSAI requires the 14-digit licence number on bills and requires e-commerce food platforms to display sellers’ licences. Your direct site should show the same number. The India page collects these operational points; your accountant should confirm how they apply to you.
The short version
No integration, and that is the honest state rather than a gap we are hiding. Keep Zomato for reach, use your own site for regulars, and connect both to the same POS when the POS connection you need is available.
Zomato questions
Does Tuckly integrate with Zomato?
No. Zomato orders do not appear in Tuckly, and your Tuckly menu is not sent to Zomato. Zomato's developer documentation sets prerequisites for POS partners of at least 500 onboarded restaurants or a monthly order volume of 50,000, which is why marketplace order flow in India runs through POS and middleware providers such as Petpooja, Restroworks and UrbanPiper.
What does Zomato charge restaurants?
Zomato's rate card is in your partner contract, not on a public page. Reported figures vary: Verdict, citing NDTV Profit in September 2025, put Zomato commissions between 10% and 28%; Business Standard in June 2025 cited Bernstein estimates of 18 to 20 per cent take rates; Inc42 in June 2025 quoted NRAI insiders at around 25% to 35%; and Medianama reported in July 2025 that Zomato's fees including commission were capped at 30% of order value. Check your own agreement. The commission calculator uses whatever rate you enter.
What is the platform fee customers pay?
Inc42 reported in March 2026 that Zomato raised its customer platform fee to 14.9 rupees before GST, up from 12 rupees. That fee is paid by the customer on each order and is separate from restaurant commission.
Should I leave Zomato if I start taking direct orders?
Usually not, and certainly not on day one. Zomato brings customers who have never heard of you. A direct site gives the ones who have a cheaper place to order, with your name on it. The comparison page and the alternatives page go through how restaurants run both.
How do my Zomato orders reach my POS today?
Through your POS vendor's own Zomato integration. Petpooja, Restroworks and UrbanPiper all document Zomato order flow into the systems they serve. Tuckly would connect to the same POS for direct orders, so both channels end up in one place, but through separate pipes.
Does GST work differently on Zomato orders?
Since 1 January 2022, e-commerce operators such as Zomato pay the GST on restaurant services supplied through them, per the GST Council's notification and circular. On a direct order, you account for GST as you do for any restaurant sale. Speak to your accountant for how this affects your filings; the India page summarises the operational points.
